Retrofit
Air Tightness

What is a Retrofit Assessment?
A retrofit assessment is a vital first step in upgrading your home’s energy performance. It involves a detailed evaluation of your property’s structure, heating system, ventilation, insulation, and energy usage

Why it matters:
This assessment identifies where your home is losing energy and helps create a tailored improvement plan to boost comfort, reduce heating bills, and cut carbon emissions

Air Tightness Testing (ATT):

Background Ventillation Assessment measured in Pascals (Pa) resulting in an Air Permeability Test Report

A Background and Ventilation Assessment is necessary during a full retrofit assessment when working under PAS 2035, especially to ensure compliance with indoor air quality standards and prevent issues like condensation or mould after improvements like insulation or air tightness. Reequired when assessing existing ventilation systems (e.g., trickle vents, air bricks) and extract systems such as kitchens and bathrooms.
